We are now in a break sessions wise until the Summer Camp in August at BCIT. Registration of all programs going forward are now open online for registration. Don't be disappointed by leaving it until September to register. Help us in our planning by signing up early. There will be many changes next fall and some nice surprises for our Balloholics.
As you go through our website we hope it becomes apparent that we have a somewhat different approach to our program. We have a pyramid shaped program. We're looking for our kids to improve every year and eventually make our development program. We are looking to develop players not house them or count them. The system in Canada is based on total numbers as a measure of success. We're interested in one number, the number of our students who become players, and we're not talking high school. If your child has a keen interest in basketball we will help them pursue their dream and manage their development. Its just not a game to us. Victory Sports Camps is located in Burnaby B.C. We are a registered nonprofit providing basketball instruction for kids in Burnaby New Westminster andthe surrounding area. Established in 2005 we completed our third yearof classes in April 2009 and continue to grow and add new programs for our students.
Balloholic JumpStart (Gr 1-5) JumpStart is our main starter program for boys and girls in Burnaby in grades 1-5. JumpStart (1-3) is a program we will launch in the fall of 2009 which will prepare kids for our future programs. The classes will be movement based with introduction to moving with the basketball and include lots of fun and a lot of activity. JumpStart ( 4-5) will be the Steve Nash Youth Basketball component of our program. Steve Nash YB program is a nation wide program for U13 boys and girls and run by Basketball BC. Balloholic Fundamentals (Gr.6-7) This program is a step up in frequency and level of coaching. We work hard with this group to improve their skill level and game skills. Practices are filled with drills and games designed to improve their athletic ability and basketball skill in a fun and safe environment. There is a select team at this level which we send to events in March. We have recently added a girls grade 6/7 section to the fall schedule and we're excited to see the response next season.
Balloholic Development Program(Gr.8-9) is in only its second season. The programbeing offered for serious players in grade 8/9 determined to take their game to thenext level , is the only one of its kind in Burnaby. Our program last season was well received byplayers and parents but we will be improving the format so its accessable to more players. This program features a number of coaches workingwith our athletes on their fundamentals, improving theirlevel of team play along with their strength and conditioning. There is an optional day for strength and conditioning with the experts at Performance Institute which is located at Burnaby 8 rinks. This program is guaranteed to make you a better player and give you the tools to become a better athlete in the long term.
We are always looking to better our program and meet the needs of our students.
