Its with great sorrow that we at Victory Sports Camps
learned of the tragic news of the passing or Wendy Ladner-Beaudry. As noted in
newspaper articles in recent days, Wendy was involved in minor sports impacting
many of BC's youth. She had a direct impact on us in the launch of a pilot
project in New Westminster at Lord Kelvin Community School this past January
2009. Twenty students from 2 inner city schools took part in Steve Nash Youth
Basketball this winter because of Wendy's work and dedication. I met Wendy last
spring when I was invited to a meeting on launching this program which was a
nation wide pilot. I can say Wendy was very happy with how it turned out in
March as she attended the final two jamborees at Lord Kelvin. She then left us
one last gift, a story she wrote on some of the parents she spoke with at our
final class and how we were impacting their lives. Wendy Ladner-Beaudry will be
dearly missed by many, many people involved in minor sports in BC.
