Demitri Harris went to highschool in Vancouver he was the recipient of the MVP award at the AA BC provincials, winning the tournament with Britannia Secondary School.

MVP of the AA British Columbia Provincial Championships and averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, steals and blocks per game for the season while hitting 35 per cent of his three-point attempts.

After graduating high school, Demitri chose Capilano College for post secondary and then went on to Saint Marys’s University (SMU). Demi chose to step away from school to pursue his basketball aspirations with the Seattle Mountaineers, a semi-professional basketball team. This year, Demitri has predominantly been playing with the Musqueam Warriors, a First Nations Basketball Club in Vancouver. He also played for the Gingolix Sons, in Kincolith. Demi loves street-ball and is regularly seen on the Kits Beach courts as well as many outdoor tournaments throughout the summer.

Having grown up in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, Demitri immersed himself into his positive surroundings; earning his NCCP ‘Level One’ coaching certificate at the Aboriginal Friendship Center,  and enjoys working at grass roots programs all over the city. From 2011 to 2014 Demitri coached three U13 basketball teams to Provincial championships at the Richmond Oval with the Mr. Bal Dilhon. Demitri gives back by coaching and being a positive role model for his community, only dunking on kids when they need to learn respect.

Demitri is excited to have committed to playing with the Balloholics this winter.
